This memo is coming to you because Staff has received many
calls from residents about the slaughterhouse issue and as such, there will probably be
several residents in attendance at the Feb. 4th Commission meeting to comment and
question the appropriateness of slaughterhouses and butcher shops in Centerville. While
these are, of course valid concerns, the discussion on Feb. 4th should be centered around
the issue of whether or not the Commission should recommend approval of the
implementation of an interim moratorium ordinance on slaughterhouses to Council.
