Effective: 2/27/59 City of Centerville Old. # I STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF CENTERVILLE ORDINANCE #1 AN ORDINANCE DEFINING GARBAGE, RUBBISH AND WATER MATTER AND PROVIDING FOR AND REGULATING THE KEEPING, GATHERING, RECEIVING, DISPOSING AND DESTROYING THEREOF: MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO SPILL GARBAGE, RUBBISH OR WATER MATTER OF ANY KIND UPON THE PUBLIC WAYS OF THE VILLAGE OF CENTERVILLE: PROVIDING THE MUNICIPAL COLLECTION OF GARBAGE BY CONTRACT, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FEES TO BE CHARGED FOR GARBAGE COLLECTIONS: PROVIDING A PENAI"TY FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE: AND REPEALING INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE ORDAlNS: SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS. (1) Garbage as used in this ordinance, applies to both residences and businesses and commercial enterprises, and shall consist of organic refuse resulting from the preparation offood and decayed and spoiled food from any source, dead animals of not more than 10 pounds weights each, and glass and tin cans in which foods are customarily purchased. (2) Rubbish, as the work is used in this ordinance, consists of wood, leaves, chips shavings, printed matter, paper, paste board, grass, rags, straw discarded wearing apparel, and all other combustible matter not included in this ordinance under the term garbage. (3) Waste matter, as the words are used in this ordinance, consists of natural soil, earth, sand, clay, gravel, loam, brick, plaster,ashes, and all noncombustible matter. (4) Farm, as the word is used in this ordinance, shall consist of any tract o[]and five (5) acres or greater in area used for agricultural purposes. SECTION 2. CARE OF GARBAGE.
