Mediation Services is in its 18th year of providing an
alternative way for your residents to resolve conflict in a peaceful way. Twenty of the twenty-{)ne
Anoka County communities support us each year. Thank you!

Your dollars. invested in mediation services preserves your staff resources as they become more
valued and workloads increase. We add value to your community, your staff and your law
enforcement professionals in providing a much needed, free resource. We can help you deliver your
mission in efficient, cost effective ways. Your dollars put professionally trained volunteer mediators
to work resolving issues that end staff involvement, reduce violence and keep the peace.

I have included an appeal for volunteer mediators in this mailing. We have a 3D-hour mediation
training scheduled in February 2005. If you or anyone on staff would like to request a volunteer
application form, please contact me or go to our website at www.mediationservice.org and download
one. I have also included an article appearing in the MN Police Chiefs magazine last summer
explaining in greater detail how we assist law enforcement and communities.

In addition, Kathi Ekstrand, Program SefVices Manager and I would be happy to come to a councilor
board meeting to present information about our programs and services and relate some success
stories. Please call Kathl or me at 763-422-8878 to schedule an appearance.

Thank you again for the continued support of mediation services to your community and your
partnership with us.

a:~~

Ann M.
