<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />NARRATIVE QUESTIONS <br /> <br />1 Provide a detailed description of your proposed 2005 project. <br /> <br />, The City of Centerville is proposing to develop a plan for the removal of substandard properties in the downtown <br />ansl reuse of thes.e prop~rties" The downtown has b~en evaluated by the Minne~ota Design Team, cI,ty staff <br />and downtown'property owners. This evaluation determined that. the mixi step to improving th~ dOWnt.own <br />is to complete professional studies of the conditions, needs and opportunities downtown offers for redevelopment <br />The city of Centerville is proposing to contract with professionals to complete the needed studies. <br />Attached to this document are proposals from Bonestroo, Rosene Anderlick and Associates, <br />Mccomb Group Ltd. And Hoisington Koeger Group Inc. If the city does not receive all grant funds requested, <br />the city will need to modify the scope of work. <br /> <br />2 What do you hope to accomplish with COBG Funding? How will the individuals s.erved benefit? <br /> <br />A plan for the removal and reuse of substandard properties in downtown Centerville. <br /> <br />The entire community will benefit from this plan by eliminating substandard properties and appropriately <br />reusing the properties. <br /> <br />3 Describe the qualifications you have in relation to the proposed project/program administration, including the <br />extent and length of experience you have in developing, managing, and/or administering this or similar <br />projects/programs. <br /> <br />The city of Centerville has no experience with SCDP programs but its' Finance Director has developed, managed <br />and administrated 13 similar projects involving HUD funds and the redevelopment of communities. <br />, More precisely, the Finance Director has completed 6 projects that involved the planning, management and <br />administration of downtown redevelopment using $ 3,789,550 of HUD funds through direct HUD awards or <br />pass through awards from the State of Minnesota.
