City of CenlerWIe April 13, 2005 Council Meeting Minures Mayor Capra indicated that she would like the City to consider using Resolutions for actions rather than only motions as a way of making it easier to look things up. Council agreed that some things would be easier to track with the use of Resolutions and asked Staff to prepare a recommendation. 2. Resolution #05-015 Motion bv Council Member Lakso. seconded bv Council Member Pur. to aoorove Resolution #05-015 as nresented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Resolution #()5-0 16 Charitable Gambling License Renewal Motion bv Council Member Lee. seconded bv Council Member Paar. to anorove Resolution #05-016 as nresented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Flier to Chauncev Barett - Committee/Commission Vacancy Mayor Capra indicated that she would like to direct Staff to send a flier to Chauncey Barett as they do not receive utility billing or the newsletter. Council agreed. S. Lifetime Achievement Award Mayor Capra suggested coordinating the Citizen of the Year with the Fete des Lacs celebration and she will work on the process. 6. American Lung Association Letter & Resolution Mayor Capra indicated she had received this letter from the American Lung Association and asked Council to consider it. Council Member Lee indicated that he does not think that government should be involved in banning something that is a legal activity. Council discussed the matter and agreed to leave it up to Anoka County. 7. Ordinance #13 Liquor Council discussed looking at the fines to ensure they are high enough as well as reviewing the required insurance amounts. City Attorney Hoeft indicated that there may be legislation requiring certain fine amounts and suggested Council table the Ordinance changes until that is known. Page 3 of8
