<br />City of CenlerWIe <br />April 13, 2005 <br />Council Meeting Minures <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she would like the City to consider using Resolutions for <br />actions rather than only motions as a way of making it easier to look things up. Council <br />agreed that some things would be easier to track with the use of Resolutions and asked <br />Staff to prepare a recommendation. <br /> <br />2. Resolution #05-015 <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Lakso. seconded bv Council Member Pur. to aoorove <br />Resolution #05-015 as nresented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Resolution #()5-0 16 Charitable Gambling License Renewal <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Lee. seconded bv Council Member Paar. to anorove <br />Resolution #05-016 as nresented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Flier to Chauncev Barett - Committee/Commission Vacancy <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she would like to direct Staff to send a flier to Chauncey <br />Barett as they do not receive utility billing or the newsletter. <br /> <br />Council agreed. <br /> <br />S. Lifetime Achievement Award <br /> <br />Mayor Capra suggested coordinating the Citizen of the Year with the Fete des Lacs <br />celebration and she will work on the process. <br /> <br />6. American Lung Association Letter & Resolution <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated she had received this letter from the American Lung Association <br />and asked Council to consider it. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated that he does not think that government should be involved <br />in banning something that is a legal activity. <br /> <br />Council discussed the matter and agreed to leave it up to Anoka County. <br /> <br />7. Ordinance #13 Liquor <br /> <br />Council discussed looking at the fines to ensure they are high enough as well as <br />reviewing the required insurance amounts. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that there may be legislation requiring certain fine amounts <br />and suggested Council table the Ordinance changes until that is known. <br /> <br />Page 3 of8 <br />
