The City is requesting immediate attention/action by the homeowner. Please
keep in contact with the City regarding the status of our request.

The City would like to take this opportunity to discuss with you the fencing requirements
for your newly installed pool. Enclosed, please find a copy of Ordinance #4, Section
100-040: Swimming Pool Fencing; No private swimming pool with a water depth
exceeding twenty-1our (24) inches may be allowed unless enclosed by a permanent wall
or fence not less than six (6) feet in height with self-closing door and self-closing latch

It appears that your chain link fence is currently at a 4 foot height and may not have a
self-closing door and self-closing latch. The Planning and Zoning Commission is
holding a public hearing at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at
6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. The Planning and Zoning Commission will be
discussing fence height and the potential to decrease the current requirement of 6 feet to 4
feet. The Planning and Zoning Commission will not be discussing the self-closing door
and self closing latch language however. If you are currently in violation, please remedy
the situation as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
C\ ,J c/
lY~I'~'
,
Dallas Larson
City Administrator

DLltb

Enclosure

CC: City Council
Building OfficialJP.W.
