<br />CITY OF COLD SPRING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-39 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TIlE INITIAL MEMBERS OF TIlE COLD SPRING <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001 the City Council of the City of Cold Spring (the "City") <br />established the Cold Spring Economic Development Authority (tbe "EDA") through its adoption of <br />Resolution 2001-32 (the ''Enabling Resolution"); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Enabling Resolution stipulated that the Authority shall consist of five members, two of <br />whom shall be members of the City Council and three members at large. One of the Council members <br />appointed to the Authority shall be the member appointed as the liaison between the City Council and the <br />Planning Commission; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Enabling Resolution stipulated tbat the members shall be appointed by the Mayor with <br />the approval of the City Council; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Enabling Resolution stipulated that those initially appointed shall be appointed for terms <br />of one, two, three, four, and five years respectively. Thereafter, all members shall be appointed for six-year <br />terms; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has publicized a notice to the public seeking to identify qualified individuals <br />having an interest in the EDA Commissioner positions; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain individuals have submitted applications to serve as EDA Commissioners; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Eric Vogt is recommending the appointment of the EDA Commissioners as <br />indicated below. <br /> <br />NOW TIffiREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cold Spring, Minnesota, as <br />follows; <br /> <br />L ADpointments. The EDA Commissioners shall be appointed as follows: <br /> <br />Type of Position Term of Position <br />Councilor - Planning Commission Six Years <br />Councilor Five Years <br />At-Large Four Years <br />At-Large Three Years <br />At-Large Two Years <br /> <br />Individual Appoiuted <br />Carie Robb <br />Dale Giinthir <br />Patrick Donlin <br />Jim Kraemer <br />Brian Olsen <br /> <br />2. Vacancies in Office. Should a vacancy occur in one of these positions the Mayor shall appoint an <br />individual in the same manner as was the case wjth this appointment to serve out the remainder of <br />the vacant term, which appointment shall require City Council approval. Should a vacancy occur in <br />a Councilor position the individual shall be required to be a Councilor in good standing, and in the <br />case of an at-large position shall be a member of the public meeting the requirements of the <br />position at the time of the vacancy. <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
