Memo

Date: February 9, 2005
To: Mayor, City Council & Staff
Rom: John W. Meyer Finance Director

State Bonding Bill Request for Local Share of CSAH 14 Improvements

As illustrated on the Attachment A, the City of Centerville's share of CSAH 14
improvements is approximately $454,000. This number does not include the
construction engineering expense of $56,000, which is also a local expense.

In addition to this improvement, Anoka County is considering a transportation
enhancement grant for additional lighting and streetscape activities. The
transportation enchantment grant could result in an additional local match
requirement of up to $200,000.

I have prepared a draft of legislation (Attachment B) to request $710,000 in state
bonding appropriation to fund the local share of the CSAH 14 improvements and
match for the Transportation Enhancement Grant. With City Council approval, I
will proceed to the process.

The process will involve the following:

1. Requesting our local legislators to sponsor this bill.
2. Monitor the progress in committees
3. Encourage inclusion in the final comprise state bonding bill
