Refer to the application for additional information. <br />Individuals with questions can contact member services at 202/962-3680 or <br />send e-mail to membershiD@icmq.Qffi. <br /> <br />Membership Categories <br /> <br />Who can be a member of ICMA? <br />Any individual with an interest in local government can become a member of <br />ICMA. However, most ICMA members serve as the chief administrative officer <br />(CAO)/manager, or aSSistant manager of a city, county, council, village, <br />township, borough, Or other local government-related entity. <br /> <br />What are ICMA's membership categories? <br />. Corporate (Full or Associate) membership is for local government <br />managers whose scope of responsibility meets these six criteria: <br />appointment, policy formulation, budget, appointing authority, <br />organizational relationships, and qualifications; or assistants who have <br />significant administrative duties and report to a CAO position that meets <br />the Job criteria for Joining. Corporate members have the privilege of <br />voting, serving on the executive board, and qualifying for service <br />awards. <br /> <br />. Noncorporate (Affiliate) membership is for everyone else, including local <br />government employees who are neither managers nor assistants. Fuli- <br />time students, academics, and individuals in the private sector or <br />federal/state government also fali into this category. Affiliates are non- <br />voting members. <br /> <br />How do I determine my membership category? <br />To determine your membership category, answer the questions on the <br />flowchart that is attached at the bottom of this page.
