The pace and scale of growth in <br />many outlying communities poses a clear prospect <br />of change fur places like CenterviUe. Our experience <br />has shown us that planning grounded in a pragmatic <br />vision of the future is the best way to respond <br />proactiveJy and preserve the community's most <br />important physical and civic features. <br /> <br />For this project, we have outlined an approach that <br />is based on applying best planning practices that are <br />associated with downtown revitalization to an <br />intensive and focused series of public participation <br /> <br />events. Based on our project experience, we have <br />fuund that well-informed citizens who are actively <br />involved in planning can be the most effective <br />engine to drive good planning ourcomes. <br /> <br />SRF always works as an impartial <br />advocate - presenting information <br />to our dients in order to facilitate <br />their decision-making process. <br /> <br />Our approach is described in the diagram below. It <br />is a progressive approach that bnilds on the <br />successes and knowledge gained at each phase of the <br />work. <br /> <br />As shown in the diagram, two large scale public <br />events would occur at Step 3 (Workshop) and Step 5 <br />(Open House). Other important points of public <br />involvement would occur at Step 2 (Walking Tour) <br />and Step 8 (Approval and Adoption).
