<br />Downtown Centerville <br />Cover Letter <br /> <br />Mr. John Meyer, Finance Director <br />City of Centerville <br />1880 Main Street <br />Centerville, MN 55308 <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />16 June 2005 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Meyer & Members of the Selection Committee: <br /> <br />Damon Farber Associates appreciates this opportunity to submit a <br />proposal for the development of a downtown plan, design standards <br />and Comp plan/zoning recommendations to guide the future <br />redevelopment of downtown Centerville. Our team has been <br />assembled to respond to the specific needs of your RFP and we are a <br />group of highly experienced professionals with extensive experience in <br />the creation of award winning urban design projects that reflect the <br />unique qualities of the areas in which they have been developed and <br />respond to the influences driving the development market. These <br />projects have become integrated into the daily lives of the people who <br />live, work, shop and recreate in each community. We look forward to <br />the development of a plan that accomplishes similar success in <br />Centerville. <br /> <br />Damon Farber Associates is a Minneapolis based urban design <br />and landscape architectural firm with extensive experience in the <br />design of Smart Growth projects through-out the region. We are <br />currently working on a number of similar projects, including Excelsior <br />& Grand in St. Louis Park, which was recently honored with the Twin <br />Cities Smart Growth Award, the next phase of Arbor Lakes mixed-use <br />retail in Maple Grove and a downtown master plan and development <br />guidelines for the cities of Brooklyn Center and New Market. <br /> <br />Damon Farber, FASLA will act as the Principal in Charge and Tom <br />Whitlock, ASLA will be the project manager for the study. Damon and <br />Tom have been collaborating on similar projects for the past twelve <br />years. Most recently for the City of Brooklyn Center on the <br />redevelopment of over 100 acres ofland within the heart of the city's <br />business district. Other team members include: <br /> <br />. KKE Architects - Inventory of existing uses, building <br />architectural analysis, review of market analysis & Comp Plan/ <br />zoning ordinance review <br /> <br />. Benshoof and Associates, Inc. - Transportation Planning <br /> <br />. Stanley Consultants, Inc. - Municipal Infrastructure, <br />Stormwater Management & Watershed Requirements <br /> <br />Our team members have years of experience working with one another <br />on the design and planning of successful downtown redevelopment, <br />within the Twin Cities. The individuals identified in our proposal are <br />highly qualified, award winning, innovative, thoughtful and are <br />recognized leaders in their profession. <br /> <br />The approach we have outlined has resulted in projects that are <br />embraced by the communities in which they are developed, reflect the <br />unique qualities of each city, have become integral to the urban fabric <br />
