<br />transferring employees. Responsible for employee evaluations within the Department. <br />. Previews working conditions and practices for adherence to federal, state and local safety <br />regulations and coordinates safety programs. <br />. Responsible for the coordination and follow-through on projects as assigned by the City <br />Administrator. The projects include contact with residents, the general public, City Council, <br />consultants, City Staff and the staff of other governmental agencies. <br />. Submits an annual budget to the City Administrator by July 15th to include capital equipment <br />purchases and capital improvement projects scheduled for the upcoming year. <br />. Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />Building Official Responsibilities <br />. Acts as the Building Official for the City of Centerville in administering the building code. <br />May be required to perform skilled inspections on new and existing structures for compliance <br />with and enforcement of building codes, zoning ordinances and contract specifications; and <br />performs related duties as required. <br />. Manages the overall building inspections functions for the City and includes final approval of <br />all structures within the City, including new construction, renovation, zoning, and other <br />building code issues. Makes final interpretation of building codes. <br />. Inspects structures and sites for compliance with zoning ordinances and life safety <br />regulations. <br />. Inspects damaged or deteriorated structures for compliance with building code; records <br />observations and reports to City Administrator. <br />. Coordinates building code issues with other agencies. <br /> <br />External Relationships with the Public <br />. Establishes a good working relationship with clear respectful communications with citizens, <br />businesses, commissions, consultants and representatives from other political subdivisions. <br />. Represents the City to external groups in ways which enhance the image of Centerville and <br />serve the best interest of the City. <br />. Assures open communication, encouraging residents and businesses to be heard by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Relationship with Council <br />. May be required to attend after-hour meetings of City Council, Commissions, etc., as <br />assigned or needed. <br /> <br />Organizational Responsibility <br />. This position is expected to treat co-workers, residents, City officials, business owners and <br />the general public in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. <br /> <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES: <br />.
