<br />. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 5, 2005 <br /> <br />Mr. L'Allier indicated that he has been told a rezone would affect his property value by <br />$30,000 to $40,000 and thanked the Commission for considering his request. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked Staff to research the Anoka Ordinance and provide it to the <br />Commission for review. <br /> <br />Commissioner Love indicated that he would not be comfortable with MI in this location <br />but would be comfortable with commercial. <br /> <br />The Commission agreed to hold a public hearing to consider the rezone of 1969 through <br />7105 and one on the south 1970 for a total of six houses. <br /> <br />2. Mr. & Mrs. Trov Thompson - 1862 Main Street - Potential for Rezone <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Thompson addressed the Commission and asked for consideration of a <br />rezone from R-2 to M1. <br /> <br />The Commission asked Staff to set a public hearing to consider a rezone to either BI or <br />mixed use for this area. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that the City received a grant toward the cost of a downtown <br />redevelopment study that will look at what types of businesses will work in downtown. <br />She then asked Staff to provide an update onthe status of that study. <br /> <br />The Commission is considering an MI district from west of City Hall to downtown past <br />Mill Road to the cemetery and one block past Centerville Road. Two Blocks to <br />Westview and south side of Progress to City Hall and north side from Progress as far as <br />the Cemetery. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanzal asked who would pay the costs associated with the rezoning. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra suggested the City pay for this since the City had discussed this rezoning <br />prior to resident requests. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated a Comprehensive Plan Amendment would be <br />required as well. <br /> <br />Motion bv Commissioner Banzai. seconded bv Commissioner Wood to direct Staff <br />to set a DubHc heann!!: for consideration of a rezone to MImI commercial for the <br />section of the City as discussed. to consider an amendment to the ComDrebensive <br />Plan. and to consider an amendment to Ordinance #4 concernin!!: nonconformin!!: <br />lan!!:ua!!:e. All in favor. Motion carned unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Mr. Ken Strantz.
