In a tax increment financing district, this value sharing can either result in a tax increase 'for other propertie$ in the municipality or result in a decrease in tax increment financing revenue depending on how the tax increment financing district is estab- lished. Tax increment financing district 1~4 which is an Economic Development District does not $hare its growth in commercial-industrial prop- erty tax values. This results. in an increase in property taxes for other properties located in Centervll1e. For taxes payable in 1998, this . increase in taxes on other properties amounted to $2,567.
