<br />6. Recreational target shooting of firearms in an allowed area of ten acres (10) or <br />more in size shall be directed at a target with a backstop of sufficient strength and <br />density to stop and control the projectile. <br /> <br />7. Recreational target shooting of a bow and arrow in an allowed area of two and <br />one-half acres (2.5) or more in size shall be directed at a target with a backstop of <br />sufficient strength and density to stop and control the projectile. <br /> <br />8. The discharge of a rifle or handgun utilizing a solid projectile shall not be allowed <br />within the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />9. The provisions of this Ordinance shall not apply to the discharge of firearms, rifles <br />or handguns when done in the lawful defense of persons or property. No part of <br />this Ordinance is intended to abridge the constitutional right to keep and bear <br />arms. <br /> <br />10. No person shall permit a child under 18 years of age to handle or use, outside of <br />the parent or guardian's presence, a dangerous weapon, dangerous instrument, or <br />any ammunition or explosive. <br /> <br />5.03 Transportation of Firearms. No person shall transport a firearm by vehicle of any type <br />whether motorized or not unless the firearm is : <br /> <br />A. Unloaded and in a gun case expressly made to contain a firearm, and the case fully <br />encloses the firearm by being zipped, snapped, buckled, tied, or otherwise <br />fastened, and without any portion of the firearm exposed; or <br /> <br />B. Unloaded and in the closed trunk of a motor vehicle; or <br /> <br />C. A handgun carried in compliance with Minnesota Statutes Sections 624.714 and <br />624.715; or <br /> <br />5.04 Transportation of Dangerous Weapons. No person shall transport a dangerous weapon <br />by vehicle of any type whether motorized, or not unless the dangerous weapon is: <br /> <br />A. Unstrung; or <br /> <br />B. Completely contained in a case; or <br /> <br />C. In the closed trunk of a motor vehicle. <br /> <br />3of3 <br />
