We discussed last fall with Public Works and again this spring, the removal of the poison ivy and
buckthorn particularily in Eagle Pass. The poison ivy has been a problem there for years. I was under the
impression the Public Works Staff could spray the poison ivy and the stumps of the buckthorn as long as they
were not using commercial chemicals, but using like over the counter product bought at say Hugo Feed Mill.
Paul says he does not believe this to be true. Question then. Paul - can you get an estimate or do whatever
needs to be done to have our lawn service get rid of the poison ivy? And if the summer guys can cut the
buckthorn how can we spray/paint the roots of the buckthorn to keep it from coming back? Attached is poison
ivy information as well as buckthorn information.

From the P & R Meeting Minutes of May 6th:

Tree Removal at Ea!!le I'ark

The DNR Forester who met with Vice-Chairperson Amundsen to look at the trees in Eagle
Park was supposed to come back and mark the trees to be removed, but he never came back
and does not return phone calls. Vice Chairperson Amundsen informed the committee that
Eagle Pass Town Home Association owns the trees on the north side of the park and this helps
to differentiate between park and private property. The committee discussed getting rid of the
scrub trees, buckthorn and noxious weeds will open up the property and the pine trees may not
need to be removed at this time. The park also needs to be sprayed for poison ivy.

%mS~
~4~

2 attachments

~ Polson Ivy.pdf
916K

~ Buckthorn.pdt
2676K

I of I

6/3/2009 7: 13 AM
