<br />CITY OF CENTERVlLLE <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMITIEE <br /> <br />January 7, 1998 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of <br />Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on January 7, 1998 at City Hall. <br />Chairperson Richard Thompson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chairperson Richard Thompson <br />Dale Larson <br />Michael Navin <br /> <br />ABSENT: Kevin Fogarty <br />Steve Brown <br /> <br />CON~ENT ITEMS <br /> <br />The Meeting Minutes from the November meeting were not included in the packet. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br /> <br />Rick Carlson gave a presentation of the Tourville property. It was noted that in previous Park <br />and Recreation meetings that this development was discussed and that Park and Recreation had <br />decided to accept cash and not land for this project. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Review of Fund Raising Update - tabled at this time. <br /> <br />Overview of Chain ofT ...lees Little League - Park and Recreation approved the Little Leagues <br />request for use of the fields for the summer of 1998. <br /> <br />LaMotte Park U~date (soil botinfls and wetland credit) - Park and Recreation reviewed the letter <br />from Anoka County and the report from Jim March about soil borings in the parking lot. Park <br />and Recreation request that a new design(s) be completed based on the following: <br />Possible movement of the skating rink. <br />Keeping four ball fields. <br />Reducing the number ofballfields. <br />Reducing the number of soccer fields. <br />Eliminate the soccer field to be placed in other location. <br />
