<br /> <br />I HeadingHome <br />ANOKA <br /> <br />- <br />dl' Ac <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />A regional initiative to end homelessness <br /> <br />Results of January 28, 2009 Anoka County Homeless Count: <br /> <br />HUD Definition: Chronically Homeless Individuals <br /> <br />Individual who was unaccompanied and homeless with disabling condition that has <br />either been continuously homeless for a year or more or has had at least 4 episodes of <br />homelessness in the past 3 year's. <br /> <br />o 69 People meet this definition of Homelessness <br />o 7 of these are youth ages 18-21 <br />o 17 of these are ages 17 or under <br /> <br />State Definition of Homelessness <br /> <br />"Those who have no pennanent place to live." This could be conditions such as <br />doubling up, transitional housing, or a place not meant for human habitation. <br /> <br />o 247 Single Adults <br />o 272 Adults in Families <br />o 385 Children in Families <br />o 38 Minors Without an Adult (ages 17 or less) <br />o 54 Youth Without an Adult (ages 18-21) <br />o 8 Senior Citizens (ages 62 or older) <br /> <br />The total number of people counted on January 28, 2009 in <br />Anoka County is 1,004 homeless, as defined by State definition. <br /> <br />Be Part of Something BIG! <br />
