CENTERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY May 2 0,1997 • <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Centerville Economic <br /> Development Committee held their regular scheduled meeting on May <br /> af, 1997. Chairperson Tim Rehbine called the meeting to order at <br /> 8:10 P.M. Present: Dan Tourville, Theresa Brenner, Jim March. <br /> _Approval of April 1997 Minutes <br /> Motion by Dan Tourville to approve the April 1997 meeting <br /> minutes, second by John Magill. All in favor. <br /> Star City Goals and Objectives <br /> The Business Appreciation }sar —b —que was a success. The <br /> businessowners seemed to be comfortable with it being held at <br /> city hall. <br /> MUSA /Comp Plan /City Water /Downtown Zoning <br /> The Comp plan is on schedule, should be final about the first <br /> week of June. Minor comments were received back by Met Council <br /> but nothing that should cause a delay. <br /> Regarding the Downtown revitalization meeting, Jim March had <br /> talked with Sid Inman of Ehlers & Associates and he stated he <br /> could send out somebody to talk and answer questions regarding <br /> TIF if the committee thought it would he helpful and he would do <br /> it at no charge to the City. After some discussion, it was <br /> decided to decline the offer from Ehlers & Associates and have <br /> the meeting be more informal. The purpose was to get feedback <br /> from the property & businessowners in the area to see what their <br /> concerns and interests are for the area, ideas for a downtown <br /> theme, and possibly running the Mn Design Team Video. <br /> Senior Housing <br /> Theresa Brenner stated the purchase agreement has been signed an <br /> the property. The pre— reservation meeting will beheld at city <br /> hall on June 9, 1997. At this meeting, Great Lakes Management <br /> will give a presentation that includes showing the layout answer <br /> any questions that people may have. <br /> City Hall Sign <br /> the City Hall sign is finally completed. Now we just have to <br /> finish paying for it, this will continue to be monitored. <br /> Orville Hughes has volunteered to plant flowers and to maintain <br /> them for the City. A thank you note to Cry will be sent out. <br /> There has also been interest in constructing monuments on the <br /> corners of the town. <br /> 1 <br />
