-
APPROVER
CITY OF CENTERVILLE
PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE
December 2, 1998
Pursuant to do call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of
Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on December 2, 1998 at City Hall, 1880
Main Street. Chairperson Michael Navin called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
Present: Chairperson Michael Navin
Dale Larson
Don Bahneman
Doug Porter
Steve Brown arrived at 7:00 p.m.
Staff: Jim March
Jill Lien
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
November 4 _1998 - Motion by Doug Porter to approve the November Minutes. Don
Bahneman seconded the motion. All in favor.
APPEARANCES
PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Clearwater Meadows Foot Bridge - Michael Navin referred us to page 52, figure 11 in the
comprehensive plan. He confirmed that there was no mention of a foot bridge in the plan,
it only mentions a proposed trail. The comprehensive plan states Park and Recreations
goals are to establish a system (nothing specific) in the comprehensive plan. Mr. Navin
asked Jim March what the next step would be.
Mr. March stated that the comp plan is merely a guide, and that nothing in it is concrete.
He stated that if we install a foot bridge, that three- wheelers will be using/crossing on the
foot bridge. He questioned if there will even be funds available to construct a foot bridge.
He estimated it will probably cost around $20,000.00 to install a nice bridge. He also
mentioned that many of the residents are against installing a bridge.
