NOT APPROVED <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 1999 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held its <br /> regularly scheduled Council meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main <br /> Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members: Theresa Brenner <br /> Terry Sweeney <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br /> Paul Palzer, Public Works Director/ Building Inspector <br /> Randy Hagerty, Recycling Coordinator <br /> Tom Peterson, City Engineer (Bonestroo) <br /> James Hoeft, City Attorney ( Barna, Stephen & Guzy) <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the January 13, 1999 Council meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. <br /> The Oath of Office - Mr. Richard Travis <br /> Ms. Gaustad administered the Oath of Office to Council -elect Mr. Richard Travis, then he joined <br /> the Council. <br /> The Oath of Office - Ms. Mari Nelson <br /> Ms. Gaustad administered the Oath of Office to Council -elect Mari Nelson, then she joined the <br /> Council. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING (S) <br /> APPEARANCES <br /> Centerville Elementary School Safety Issues <br /> Police Chief Joel Heckman addressed and updated the Council on safety issues on Main Street <br /> near the elementary school. The Circle Pines - Lexington - Centerville Police Department <br /> (CPLCPD) is dedicated to assisting the safety of the school children. The Chief explained the <br /> real safety issue is the speed vehicles reach (40 mph) between the intersection of 20th Avenue <br /> and Main Street to the elementary school crosswalk area. Currently, the only solution is <br /> voluntary compliance of the Centerville residents. <br /> 1 <br />
