CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> March 10, 1999 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held it's regularly scheduled <br /> meeting on March 10, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members Mari Nelson <br /> Richard Travis <br /> Theresa Brenner <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Terry Sweeney <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br /> Paul Palzer, Public Works Director/Building Inspector <br /> Randy Hagerty, Recycling Coordinator <br /> James Hoeft, City Attorney <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the March 10, 1999 meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> __. PUBIC HEARING - none <br /> III. APPEARANCES <br /> Randy Hagerty - Recycling Coordinator <br /> Mr. Hagerty was present to discuss Garage Sale Days which is scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of May. <br /> Historically, the City has donated funds to assist in the garage sale event. Mr. Hagerty hoped that the <br /> City would consider waiving the food permit fee for a concession stand and donate funds to attract the <br /> trolley ride company from Stillwater. The Council discussed setting a precedence by waiving the food <br /> permit fee; however, they favored donating $75.00 toward trolley rides. <br /> Motion by Mayor Wilharber, seconded by Councilmember Nelson to approve a $75.00 donation toward <br /> Garage Sale Days to assist paying for trolley rides, Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Hagerty entertained conducting a flee market in conjunction with Garage Sale Days on Saturday. <br /> The event is scheduled to be held at the Elementary School's parking lot. Tables will be rented at no cost <br /> to the City, but to vendors for $10.00. Mr. March commented that he spoke to a couple craft merchants <br /> and there is a strong interest for this type of an event. The Council discussed conducting an art and craft <br /> show in place of a fle®,market. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Brenner to approve an art and craft <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br />
