MEMO <br /> DATE : April 21, 2000 <br /> TO : Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM: Jim March <br /> RE : Stop Sign Petition — 73` and Quebec Intersection <br /> This item was tabled again at our last Council meeting. I have called Police Chief Joel <br /> Heckman to discuss this stop sign request. Chief Heckman is out of the office from April <br /> 17 -21 at a convention. The Deputy Chief has informed me that the department does have <br /> two non - marked vehicles equipped with radar that could perform speed studies. I have <br /> left a message with Deputy Chief Makela to have the Chief call me when he gets back in <br /> the office so that we can further discuss this issue. My thought is to request that the <br /> Community Service Officer conduct a speed study on both 73"' Street and also on Main <br /> Street in an un- marked vehicle so that we have accurate speed data for both of these <br /> locations. I believe it is important to have accurate data, prior to making signage <br /> decisions. <br />
