The purpose of the Commercial District is to <br /> provide for a limited mixture of land uses, made mutually <br /> Compatible through controls and high quality standard. To <br /> facilitate more intensive and higher valued development and <br /> redevelopment of areas convenient to the Metropolitan market <br /> area. This District shall allow opportunities. to integrate <br /> • <br /> quality commercial uses, providing the opportunity to <br /> benefit from excellent visibility from major arterial routes <br /> • in conjunction with major local thoroughfares. <br /> • <br /> A -2 - General„ Minimum Recuiremenjs. As provided in Section 38 of this <br /> ordinance. <br /> In addition to Section 36: <br /> (1.) Space for a single vehicle shall be nine (9) feet by <br /> eighteen (18) feet or larger. <br /> (2.) Off street parking area shall be surfaced with asphalt <br /> or concrete, and with permanent concrete curbs to <br /> define driveways and parking limits. Plans and <br /> specifications for parking areas shall be reviewed by <br /> the City Engineer, and approved by the City Council <br /> prior to construction. <br /> (3.) All open off street parking areas having more than six <br /> (6) parking spaces shall be effectively screened by a <br /> wall, fence of acceptable design, or compact hedge <br /> along all sides which adjoin or are directly across the <br /> street from a property in a residential zone or <br /> institutional use. Such wall, fence or hedge shall be <br /> maintained in good condition. Plans for fencing shall <br /> be approved by the City Council. The fence shall not <br /> be used for advertising purposes. <br /> (4.)
