MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: May 12, 1999 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM: Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br /> RE: Animal Ordinance #24 - Please bring information from previous mtg. <br /> During the April 28, 1999 Council meeting the Council heard a complaint in regards to cats <br /> at large. CouncihnemberSweeney ' Ordinance #24 - did not address <br /> cats at large. The Council suggested the City develop an Ordinance to address cats at large <br /> and the possibility of licensing them - . The directed to compile aarimal <br /> ordinances from the surrounding communities. Included in your packet is a copy of several <br /> animal ordinances, some deal with tali an,l }Rcnsiug; whereas; others do -net. <br /> The Planning Commission plans to meeting on Tuesday, May 18, at 6 :00 p.m. to discuss <br /> Ordinances; During the meeting, this issue could be considered. .However, it been my <br /> experience that the animal ordinance is a huge undertaking and thus, the ordinance may <br /> notbrready forCouncil's final consideration early-fall. <br /> It is my recommendation that the Council forward this issue to the Planning Commission <br /> in order to amend the ordinance. <br />
