Council consensus was to further examine expanding City Hall office space and building a truck <br /> storage facility behind City Hall. Staff was instructed to talk to the County, RCWD and the Fire <br /> Chief to discuss the feasibility of this option. <br /> Consensus was to examine looking at a new watertower site somewhere in the Industrial Park. <br /> Cedar Street Park would either be sold or swapped for other property. Mr. Peterson mentioned <br /> that Cedar Street Park would not be a very good location for a watertower. <br /> ANIMAL ORDINANCE <br /> Council consensus was to eliminate the current animal ordinance and start over. City Attorney <br /> Jim Hoeft recommended using the League of Minnesota Cities model animal ordinance as a <br /> starting point. Staff is to provide a copy of the League model ordinance to Council for their <br /> review. The animal ordinance will be placed on the next Council agenda. <br /> RECYCLING COORDINATOR <br /> Jim March mentioned that he has spoke to Randy Hagerty in regards to remaining as the <br /> Recycling Coordinator only to organize the Earth Day and Garage Sales Day events. The <br /> remaining Recycling Coordinator duties would be assimilated by current staff. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson. seconded by Councilmember Travis to contract with <br /> Randy Hagerty to coordinate Earth Day and Garage Sales Days for a certain number of <br /> hours to be determined by the City Administrator. Motion carried. <br /> MEDIA RELATIONS SPECIALIST <br /> Councilmember Sweeney mentioned that he likes the idea of having someone specialize to <br /> coordinate the City's communication efforts. Councilmember Nelson agreed stating she felt that <br /> an ideal candidate may exist in the community for this position. Councilmember Nelson further <br /> stated that she would like the newsletter to be like a mini Quad Press, but sponsored by the City <br /> and focused on Centerville. Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson. seconded by Councilmember Travis to recess the <br /> meeting.at 7:45 to executive session to conduct the performance review for the City <br /> Administrator. Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson. seconded by Councilmember Travis to reopen the <br /> meeting at 8:00 and approve a step inc rease to Grade 10, step 7 for the Administrator <br /> retroactive to May 20. 1999 and include a $3000 performance bonus.
