The CNN does not want a shelter. <br /> Mr. Larson questioned why the CNN is so against a shelter. <br /> Ms. Dorn explained that if the play structure is in the middle of the park, then all of the parents <br /> can see their children playing at the park. Also, the CNN was under the impression that the adults <br /> wanted to be away from the play structure. <br /> Mr. Navin felt it wouldn't hurt to give the public one more chance to voice their opinions. If no <br /> one voices an opinion, then the City will continue working with the CNN ideas. <br /> Mr. Porter questioned if the trees were relocated from Eagle Pass to Acorn Creek Park. <br /> Mr. March explained that 20 trees have been relocated to the Acorn Creek Park. Ms. Dom <br /> mentioned some of the trees look like they are dying. <br /> Update on Royal Meadows Park Improvements <br /> Public Works has removed the slide at the Royal Meadows Park. They haven't had time to repair <br /> the swing set yet, but hopefully when the street sealcoating is complete, they can get back to <br /> Royal Meadows to repair the swing. Mr. Porter mentioned the basketball hoop pole is really <br /> looking shabby. He asked if anyone would object to him going over to the park and painting the <br /> pole for the basketball hoop. Everyone felt it was a great idea, and commended Mr. Porter for his <br /> contribution to the park and city. <br /> Update on Signs at Royal Meadows, Acorn Creek and Eagle Parks <br /> Mr. March explained that the materials have been ordered. Mr. Houle has spent a lot of time just <br /> getting the right materials. He is making each sign a little different from the other, and it involves <br /> a lot of Mr. Houle's time. Mr. March would like to see some type of public recognition for Mr. <br /> Houle. Mr. March also brought up Mr. Blom for recognition. Mr. Blom drilled some 60 holes <br /> for the hockey rink boards. It was determined that a plaque would be a very nice symbol of <br /> recognition. Mr. Navin also suggested a City shirt. Mr. March felt the Fete des Lacs (City <br /> Celebration) would be a perfect opportunity to recognize Mr. Houle and Mr. Blom for their <br /> efforts. It was determined that Friday night at bingo would be the best time to award both a <br /> plaque and a City shirt. <br /> Reschedule August 4, 1999 Park and Recreation Meeting <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee choose to change the date of the August meeting from <br /> August 3r to August 9 due to vacations. <br /> 4 <br />
