Services for the Cit. of Centerville in 1799_ <br /> Alexandra House has established strong leadership and credibility in Anoka County for over 20 years. We work in <br /> partnership with vn ious community groups, local units of government, churches and civic organizations. <br /> Additionally, we have provided expertise in the field of domestic violence to state, national and international <br /> ca ganizations. Wean a nonprofit agency, tax exempt and the gn(y domestic violence service provider for women <br /> and endues in Anoka County. Alexandra House services at free and Include support, advocacy, intervention, <br /> professional training and miry edaeadon provided by stag interns and volunteers, In addition to a 24 -hour <br /> temporary emergency shelter, Alexandra Haase advocates are located in the Anoka County Human Services <br /> building, at Unity and Macy Hospitals and our Community Services office that is adjacent to the Anoka County <br /> O3urdtouse. <br /> Fives women and children from Centerville have ntitired our shelter services in 1998 and our advocates bare assisted <br /> an additional 7 families seeking remedies to violence through the Anoka County court system. <br /> 0 ver twenty4ve percent of American women are physically abused during their lifetime. Ten percent of the time <br /> the injury is serious enough to require hospitalization or emergency room treatment It is important to note that <br /> many women will be reluctant to report domestic violence so most Centerville reeidenm will not witness er have <br /> knowledge of this crime as it is being committed. Your financial help and con mmnity partnership will ensure that <br /> existing and Attars Centerville women and families will have their needs met in the event that domestic violence <br /> becomes a part of their lives while at the saute time addressing prevention measures to stop its growth in your <br /> ccaumunity. <br /> I lope that the City of Centtrvrile will find merit in the level of comicality assistance provided by Alexandra <br /> House, Inc. hank you for your consideration of this request and for your partnership in addressing the problem of <br /> dcme:tic violence.
