Anoka County Park Advisory Committee. He was a board member for the Forest Lake
Memorial Hospital. He was a member on the Centerville Street Naming Committee. He
was appointed as the city historian. Melvin was one of the earliest supporters of senior
housing in Centerville and helped it become a reality. When the Minnesota Design Team
came to Centerville last fall, he not only hosted a team member in their home, but he
participated in the follow up meetings for the future of County Road 14.
That's still not all! Melvin is a lifelong member of St. Genevieve's Church and he served
on the Pastoral Council Maintenance Committee for 3 terms. He has been charter
member of the Centerville Lions Club for 25 years and was in charge of their charitable
gambling. In addition, he was a volunteer snowmobile safety instructor, and he has
delivered Meals on Wheels. Finally, Melvin is a member of the American Legion.
Melvin Dupre, you truly deserve this Lifetime Achievement Award. You have been an
outstanding member of the community throughout your life and you continue to help
shape Centerville's future. We are grateful and thank you for your dedication and hard
work. We are also grateful and give our thanks to your beautiful wife and family who
have been so supportive and understanding while you sacrificed time with them to help
Centerville progress into the fine community we enjoy today. But above all, we thank
you for your brave service to our country so that we may continue to live as free
Americans. Congratulations!
