December 15, 1999 <br /> City Counsel <br /> City of Centerville <br /> 1880 Main St. <br /> Centerville, MN 55038 <br /> Dear counsel members, <br /> As most of you know, there is a group of residents, business owners, <br /> committee members and counsel members who are starting to plan the year <br /> 2000 city celebration. There are currently twelve of us who have been <br /> meeting monthly to lay the ground work. We are very excited about <br /> revitalizing the Fete Des Lacs, into a celebration the entire town can be <br /> proud of. <br /> We spoke to the Centerville Lions before we began and they were more than <br /> happy to let us take over the planning. We met with the Lions club again <br /> after we had met a couple of times, we asked to become a sub - committee of <br /> their organization. That does not fit in with their guidelines and we were not <br /> able to agree on an arrangement. <br /> We are asking to become a recognized committee of the City of Centerville. <br /> The City of Centerville deserves to have a celebration that is comparable to <br /> some of our neighboring cities' and we intend to do that. I have attached <br /> some more information, in booklet form, that may answer more questions.
