MEMO <br /> DATE : September 3, 1999 <br /> TO : Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM : Jim March <br /> RE : Firearm Ordinance <br /> ****************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br /> The City Council held a public hearing at the first meeting in August to solicit input on the firearm <br /> ordinance. No one was in attendance at the public hearing. The City Council chose to send this <br /> item back to the Planning and Zoning Committee to allow the new Committee members to have a <br /> chance to review the current ordinance. One of the main issues with the current ordinance is that <br /> the ordinance does not restrict someone from shooting a bow and arrow on their own property or <br /> shooting a single projectile item hie a bb gun. <br /> The comments from the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting will be discussed at the Council <br /> meeting. <br /> • <br />
