CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION 99 -13 <br /> APPROVING THE TAX RATE INCREASE <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has enacted Chapter 243, Laws of Minnesota 1999, Article 6, <br /> Section 2 requiring municipal governments to have adopted and filed an authorizing resolution if its <br /> municipality tax rate turns out to be higher the following year than a theoretical tax rate for the <br /> previous year under the law; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are numerous factors that are beyond the control of the City Council that can <br /> potentially cause tax rates to rise. <br /> WHEREAS, because of these outside factors beyond control, the City of Centerville may need to <br /> have a higher tax rate for the following year, and if the tax rate has to go up, the City of Centerville <br /> wishes to be in compliance with the law with an authorizing resolution being filed with Anoka <br /> County; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that if the tax rate of the City of Centerville for the year <br /> 2000 is higher than the tax rate certified by the City of Centerville under clause (3) of Section 2, <br /> Article 6, Chapter 243, Laws of Minnesota 1999, the higher tax rate is hereby authorized by the City <br /> of Centerville City Council. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an official copy of this adopted resolution be filed with the <br /> Anoka County Auditor, who for purposes of this law in Anoka County is the Division Manager of <br /> Property Records and Taxation. <br /> Adopted by the Centerville City Council this 13 day of October, 1999. <br /> Tom Wilharber, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Diane F.
