HOUSING CODE: <br /> REGISTRATION OF RENTAL UNITS <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Centerville has adopted Ordinance <br /> No. 38, Housing Code: Registration of Rental Units; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council, by four -fifths of its members, does find that the <br /> attached Title and Summary of the ordinance does clearly inform the public of the intent <br /> and effect of the ordinance and the form of publication is approved. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this action is authorized by the <br /> Minnesota State Statute 412.191, Subd 4. The form that shall be published is stated <br /> below: <br /> TITLE AND SUMMARY <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 38 <br /> HOUSING CODE: REGISTRATION OF RENTAL UNITS <br /> 1. The ordinance establishes definitions that will be used in the future to describe <br /> aspects of the registration of rental units within the City. <br /> 2. The ordinance states that a Registration Certificate is required. <br /> 3. The ordinance establishes restrictions and requirements that will apply to owners <br /> of rental property within the City. <br /> 4. The ordinance states that the City uses the Uniform Housing Code as its basis for <br /> compliance. <br /> 5. The ordinance states that rental properties must comply with zoning requirements. <br /> 6. The ordinance provides for a background investigation of applicants and <br /> prospective tenants. <br /> 7. The ordinance establishes the issuance and posting of registration certificate. <br /> 8. The ordinance establishes procedure for notice of violation, license suspension <br /> and revocation. <br /> 9. The ordinance reasons for rejection of application. <br />
