NUT APPROVED <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> AUGUST 11, 1999 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of Centerville held it's regularly <br /> scheduled meeting on August 11, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Council Member Mari Nelson <br /> Council Member Dick Travis <br /> Council Member Terry Sweeney <br /> Council Member Linda Brousarrd Vickers <br /> ABSENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> STAFF: City Administrator, Jim March <br /> City Engineer, Tom Peterson <br /> City Attorney, James Hoeft <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> In Mayor Wilharber's absence, Acting Mayor Dick Travis called the August 11, 1999 City <br /> Council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> Once #5 - Discbarne of Firearms <br /> Council member Linda Brousarrd Vickers stated the Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> discussed the ordinance at their meeting, however no consensus was reached. <br /> Council member Vickers also indicated the police department would like the City to take <br /> a look at this and make modifications. Bow and arrow shooting was a primary issue. <br /> Motion by Council member Vickers, seconded by Council Member Nelson to close <br /> the public hearing. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Council member Nelson questioned whether the Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> could give City Council their consensus after examining the Firearm Ordinances. <br /> Motion by Council Member Nelson, seconded by Council member Vickers to <br /> request the Planning and Zoning Commission review the Firearm Ordinance at <br /> Page t of 5 <br />
