There
is an all you can eat spaghetti feed (5 to 10 p.m.) and silent auction.
* The proposed rezone that was requested by Lloyd Drilling was approved by City Council
last evening. Mr. Drilling will be proposing a retail /commercial center for the site located
across from City Hall. Mr. Drilling indicated that he has had several tenant inquiries.
* The development to be known as Pheasant Marsh was given preliminary plat approval by
Council last evening. The development will consist of 77 single family homes to be
completed in three phases. The first phase will be scheduled so that no new homes are
occupied until the new elementary school is completed.
* There is a senior citizen safety camp that is being coordinated by the Anoka County
Sheriffs Office.
If you know someone that may be interested in attending this event, please ask them to
contact City Hall.
* I received a call today from a resident asking if I knew of a needy Centerville family that
could use a free Christmas dinner this season. 1 have a lead that I will be contacting on
this item. Acts of kindness such as this help build a solid, caring community. We have had
a couple of calls from residents that are looking for sources of Christmas toys for their
children. We are working to get them set up with Toys for Tots or Toys for Joy. There is
a new clothing drop off at City Hall that is intended to provide clothing for needy seniors in
the County. If you are out shopping, pick up an extra article of clothing if you can and drop
it off at City Hall.
* The Centerville ice rink is now open! Slap on your skates and give it a try.
* Rick Carlson indicated that he has had several calls on the Hunter's Crossing lots
recently. He has one home already sold and a couple of others pending. The value of the
home and lot already sold is $425,000.
12/14/00
