Mr. <br /> Porter questioned if the YMCA would still be willing to participate if the Parks and <br /> Recreation Committee were to move a little slower, i.e. no staffing the first year. Mr. <br /> Silverness responded with, "Definitely, anything we can help with." <br /> Katie Kubic, Sr. Program Director / NW YMCA (Shoreview) appeared before the Parks <br /> and Recreation Committee to discuss the Summer Day Camp programs oared through <br /> the YMCA. Ms. Kubic explained that the Summer Day Camp programs offered last year <br /> didn't go over very well due to late promotions and the fact that residents were looking <br /> for full day programs. This year the YMCA is proposing offering a full day program at <br /> the park, bus services from LaMotte Park to the NW YMCA, a bus route through the <br /> community, hours available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and reduced rates for YMCA <br /> members. They plan to distrlute flyers in February or March. <br /> Mr. Silverness requested the Parks and Recreation Committee notify him of their <br /> intentions/desires for the Day Camp by the beginning of the new year, and the desires for <br /> the wheel park by March. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> November 1. 2000 Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> Motion by Mr. Walter, seconded by Mr. LeBlanc to approve the November 1, 2000 <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes with noted change. All in favor. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Individual Goals / Recommendations for 2001 Budget <br /> The Committee discussed the accomplishments made in the year 2000, and were pleased <br /> that all or most of the goals were met. The goals completed are as follows: <br /> ✓ Trees planted in all parks <br /> ✓ New playground equipment at Royal Meadows Park <br /> ✓ New park signs with landscaping around each <br /> ✓ New benches, picnic tables and trash receptacles at all parks <br /> ✓ LaMotte Park trail link to Anoka County Park <br /> ✓ Turf improvement at all parks <br /> ✓ Baseball fields at LaMotte Park <br /> The Committee established a 2001/2002 Parks and Recreation Budget and Objectives <br /> Plan as follows: <br /> 3 <br />
