Sheehy Land Donation Ms. Lien explained that Mr. Cy Sheehy is willing to donate land located in the Industrial Park area just behind Goetz Landscape and Northern Forest Products between 20 and 21' Avenues to the City. It is currently a 20 -acre parcel in which Mr. Sheehy would like to donate 15 -acres of As indicated in Mr. March's Week in Review, if the City obtained this 15- acres, we would have the future trail linkage area secured to traverse, and would be consistent with the long -term trail plan to connect to the City of Hugo. The property has a high potential for recreational uses, and could also be a site for a fixture water tower. In addition, a local business owner has expressed his interest in purchasing or renting a portion of this property from the City, if we accept the proposed donation. This was presented to the Parks and Recreation Conunittee for informational purposes only at this time. Capitol Improvement Projects Discussed previously. Ground Development Concept Plan The committee discussed the proposed Ground Development Concept Plan for the property located just south of the Center Oaks Development. Ground Development is proposing 17,500 square foot minimum lots. The committee was not in favor of the proposed Ground Development Concept Plan as presented. DISCUSSION ITEMS Parks and Recreation's Monthly Report to Patricia Scott (LeJournal) The committee directed Ms. DeVine to focus most of the monthly Parks and Recreation update on the Skate Park / BMX Track Informational meeting to be held on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. Motion by Mr. Porter, seconded by Mr. Peterson to adjourn the October 4, 2000 Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting.
