d
MEMO
DATE : November 3, 2000
TO : Honorable Mayor and Council
FROM: Jim March
RE : Joint Powers Agreement/Reports — Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement
Council
•
Included in your packet is a letter from the chair of the Anoka County Joint Law
Enforcement Council. An amendment is being proposed to the by -laws that will allow
Centerville representation on the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement CounciL Our
representatives will be the Centennial Lakes Police Department Police Chief and the
Centennial Lakes Police Department Police Commission Chair. We need to approve this
amendment to become an official part of the group.
This group was originally created in 1982 to primarily initiate and carry on law
enforcement responsibilities that are of mutual concern to the members of the agreement.
Two reports have recently been created by this group and are included in your packet.
Also included is a letter from Police Chief Heckman that introduces these two reports.
•
