Bonus points will also be given to encourage a broader distribution of models in the region <br /> (the majority of awards in the first four years of the program have been located in <br /> central city or older suburban areas): <br /> 10 points Proposals in any of these categories: for transit- oriented <br /> mixed -use development (Category A), mixed -use non- transit- <br /> oriented development (Category B), OR residential <br /> development with integrated mix of housing types and costs <br /> (Category C) in Developing Urban Cities. <br /> USES OF GRANT AND LOAN FUNDS <br /> Funding Objectives and Limitations: <br /> 1. Funded project components should directly contribute to completion of a built or <br /> finished project. <br /> 2. Funded project components should reflect the goals and principles of the <br /> demonstration program. <br /> 3. Minimum and maximum awards: There are no minimum or maximum award levels <br /> established for individual proposals, except for Planning /Predevelopment Proposals <br /> (Category E). Funded proposals in Category E are limited to $150,000 per proposal. <br /> 4. No specific number of awards or dollar amounts is allocated to any of the funding <br /> categories. <br /> 5. Local match: No local match is required, except for Category E, <br /> Planning / Predevelopment proposals. A match of 1:1 is required for Category E <br /> proposals. <br /> Eligible and Ineligible Uses - <br /> Categories A, B, C & D: <br /> Demonstration Account funds ($6.9 million) may be used for project and site planning <br /> costs, design and construction costs. Grant funds are intended to be used for "hard costs" <br /> rather than "soft costs."
