IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> Trio Inn Liquor Violation <br /> Mr. March made the Council aware there was a violation of serving to a minor at <br /> the Trio Inn. He stated this item is for Council information at this time, as <br /> criminal charges have not been made to date. Mr. March stated the Council could <br /> charge a fine after criminal charges were determined. <br /> Council Member Nelson stated she would hie to see the City have a no tolerance <br /> policy with this issue. City Attorney Hoeft stated in other communities they look <br /> at prior offenses, number of criminal charges, and training received by bar tenders <br /> before a punishment is charged. <br /> Mr. March stated the proprietor of the Trio Inn was not in the establishment when <br /> the incident occurred and he wants the Council to know this is not the practice of <br /> the establishment. <br /> Anoka County Highway Improvement Plan <br /> Mayor Wilharber reviewed the upcoming plans of Anoka County roadways. He <br /> indicated the County is looking to overlay Birch Street from Centerville Road to <br /> Hodgson Road this year. Mayor Wilharber noted Main Street has also been <br /> identified for improvement in the year 2010 at a cost of $6,772,785. <br /> Council Member Nelson asked if an interchange would be added at I-35W and <br /> County Road 14. Mr. March stated items beyond five years may not have been <br /> updated within the current plan. <br /> Road Re- Construction — Heritage Street and LaMotte Drive <br /> Mr. Peterson stated he drafted a Letter to the City regarding preliminary costs of <br /> reconstructing Heritage Street and LaMotte Drive. He explained it was roughly <br /> 1,770 feet from Centerville Road to the west City limits. <br /> Mr. Peterson reviewed three options to reconstruct the roadways with costs <br /> ranging from $20,000 to $220,000. He indicated the City of Lino Lakes would <br /> not be reconstructing their sections of these roadways until 2002. Mr. Peterson <br /> recommended the cities reconstruct this roadway at the same time. <br /> Mayor Wilharber asked that the City continue communication with the City of <br /> Lino Lakes for this project and it be a joint effort. Mr. March stated the City <br /> would want to keep the residents apprised of the situation as well. <br /> Park and Ride Site Request/Livable Communities Act — Demonstration Grant <br /> Mr. March explained he discovered a grant program through the Met Council's <br /> Livable Communities Act that would work well for the City of Centerville. He <br /> explained the deadline has been extended for this program and the City could <br /> apply for several projects, one being a Park and Ride site. <br /> Page 8 of 12 <br />
