PLANNING AND ZONING MEETING - TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 1979
PRESENT:
FRANK ZIMNY, CHAIRMAN MEL DUPRE
BOB LINDGREN BOB LA MOTTE
JERRY SUNDBERG RAY MURRAY
JOE PERKOWSKI WALTER PRACHAR, LIAISON
ABSENT:
TOM WILHARBER
Chairman Zimny called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Chairman read public hearing notice for rezoning of parcel
from industrial to commercial. Mr. Schifsky and Mr. Schmidt
were in attendance requesting rezoning of parcel, purpose
being a mobile home facility. Discussion was held and
Ray Murray voiced his opinion based on the reports from
various clerks in the area on their city's percentage of
mobile homes versus one family dwellings as follows:
Forest Lake - .7%
Hugo 6%
Wyoming 12%
Blaine 25%
Anoka County 7%
The proposal of 250 units in Centerville would make the
community rank only second to Landfall.
Joe Perkowski made a motion to reject the application for
rezoning for the following reasons: (1) the enormity of
the project; (2) the population of the park versus the
population in the city proper; (3) part of the area in
question is outside the sewered area, Jerry Sundberg
seconded it, vote followed: 5 in favor of motion; 2
opposed, Wilharber absent, motion carried.
Mr. Ed LaBossiere was in attendance stating that a home
being built on Peltier Lake Drive is too close to his
property line and he thinks that the house should be
built to code and not be granted a variance to build.
No action taken as the request for a variance had not
been heard from before P & Z.
Mr. Short was in attendance and presented material on
public facilities -park and open space, sanitary sewer
and transportation system.
Mr. Short will be in attendance at August 7th meeting
to review ordinances involving zoning, subdivisions and
mining extraction.
