PLANNING & ZONING MEETING <br /> TUESDAY - MARCH 20, 1979 <br /> PRESENT: Frank Zimny, Chairman <br /> Tom Wilharber Melvin Dupre <br /> Jerry Sundberg Bob LaMotte <br /> Ray Murray Walter Prachar, liaison <br /> John McClellan, Supt. of <br /> District #12 <br /> Mr. Ray Schifsky Mr. Clement Schmitz <br /> ABSENT: Bob Lindgren Joe Perkowski <br /> Meeting called to order by chairman at 7:00 pm. <br /> Mr. Zimny voiced negative response from people he had contacted <br /> concerning the mobile home park proposal. Jerry Sundberg also <br /> heard negative response from residents. Mr. Zimny was con- <br /> cerned about the impact on our school system. Mr. McClellan <br /> advised the board about the .7 pupil per unit impact which <br /> is possible. No problem in housing students. Three years <br /> would make no problem. Taxes on mobile homes are figured <br /> at $250. per unit - homes pay on valuation bais. <br /> Applicants (Schmitz & Schifsky) expressed desire to get special <br /> use permit for entire area proposed with a phased operation <br /> dependent on acquiring additional sewered area. Some dis- <br /> xxxxcussion on tax base implications, police and fire pro- <br /> tection requirements. Concern expressed by P & Z as to city's <br /> guarantee of performance on conditions by developers. Con- <br /> sensus if permit was issued each half of development should be <br /> able to stand on its own as regards all required facilities. <br /> Copies of trailer park ordinance was requested by members and <br /> members would make recommendations on April 3 meeting. <br /> Some discussion of inquiry by Prachar on behalf of interested <br /> parties on sentiment involving establishment of manufacturing <br /> concern that has silk screening operation. Development would <br /> take place on commercial property currently held by Gerald <br /> Rehbein on Main Street. Response affirmative. <br /> Some discussion with preliminary land use plan, no problems <br /> as presented. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Walter Prachar, acting clerk <br />
