P &Z MEETING MINUTES <br /> APRIL 5, 1994 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> regarding the vacation of Sorel Street if the City would be able <br /> to obtain land on Centerville Lake from the St. Paul Water <br /> Department to use as park land. <br /> Commission member Welk suggested sending the request to the City <br /> Council without a recommendation and ask the City Council to <br /> reconsider the vacation of Sorel Street. Commission member Welk <br /> questioned what the appropriate use of the lot down the line is. <br /> Commission member Drilling suggested denying the variance and <br /> asking the Hansens to come back with another plan. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen to pass the Lot <br /> Split /Variance Request of Lloyd and Diane Hansen to the City <br /> Council without a recommendation for denial or approval based <br /> upon the following reasoning: <br /> - to request the City Council to reconsider the <br /> possibility of vacating Sorel Street and to investigate <br /> the possibility of obtaining lakeshore property from <br /> the St. Paul Water Department to be utilized as park <br /> land versus Sorel Street; <br /> - the lot is has a two sanitary sewer stubs; <br /> - the irregular shape of the lot; <br /> - the lot has a total square footage of 33,000 square <br /> feet; <br /> - two single family homes would be more of an advantage <br /> to City versus twin homes; <br /> - the Circle Pines /Lexington Police Chief and the <br /> Centennial Fire District Chief do not have a problem <br /> except appropriate for signage; <br /> - there may be another creative way of re- aligning the <br /> lot lines and changing the lot frontage, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> Star City Committee Representative. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Welk to table discussion of a Star <br /> City Committee Representative, motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ordinance #4, Article 7 - DEFINITIONS. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Welk to table discussion of <br /> Ordinance #4, Article 7 - DEFINITIONS, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Possibility of Amending Ordinance #8, Article 3, Section 38.12 <br /> SODDING. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Welk to table discussion of <br /> Possibility of Amending Ordinance #8, Article 3, Section 38.12 <br /> SODDING, motion carried unanimously. <br /> ADJOURN: <br />
