P & Z Meeting Minutes <br /> Page 4 <br /> March 7, 1989 <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen, to table the variance <br /> request pending clarification from the Building Inspector and ask <br /> that he be at the next meeting to explain the problem with <br /> Section 34.03 of Ordinance #4, unless he decides that the section <br /> can be used to grant a building permit, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> After the Scherbel "s and their neighbors left the meeting, more <br /> discussion took place. <br /> Member Vermeulen stated that she has a problem with it, when <br /> people come in and say they like whatever the person is asking <br /> for, just because they may want to do the same thing in a year or <br /> two. <br /> Chairperson Tourville stated that he has always felt that if a <br /> variance doesn't hurt anyone, why not grant it. <br /> Mayor Haberman stated if this happens, they will keep pushing <br /> until they are up to the street. <br /> Member Welk referenced Section 34.07 -1, and said that she has a <br /> problem with the exception made here for detached garages to be <br /> allowed five feet from the side yard line, as apposed to ten feet <br /> for attached garages. She stated that five feet is five feet - <br /> why should there be a difference. <br /> Discussion of a public hearing for possible approval of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan, which is to be held at the Planning and <br /> Zoning level any time after April 13th, 1989. <br /> Chairperson Tourville would want the City Attorney to see the <br /> draft first, and stated, "How can we hold a public hearing on <br /> something we haven't seen ?" <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Drilling, to table the <br /> Comprehensive Plan public hearing, motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Welk, to adjourn the meeting, <br /> motion carried unanimously.
