Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Planning and Zoning
Commission of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on
Tuesday, August 23, 1988. Chairman Tourville called the hearing
to order at 7:08 p.m. Present: Welk, Lindgren, Drilling and
Council liaison, Wilharber. Absent: Vermeulen.
The purpose of the hearing was to hear all persons present
regarding the possibility of rezoning, from Commercial to R -2A
Residential, the south ten (10) acres of the property described
as follows:
The west half of the northeast quarter of the northeast
quarter; except road; subject to easement of record.
Section 23, Township 31, Range 22, Anoka County, Minnesota.
The property lies north of Main Street, east of Shad Avenue and
west of Royal Meadows and is presently in the MUSA (sewered)
area.
Chairman Tourville asked Gerald Rehbein, 6266 Otter Lake Road,
Lino Lakes, who is owner of the property, for an update of what
has happened since last month's meeting. Mr. Rehbein stated that
he changed the sketch plan so that all lots are at least 11,500
square feet; corner lots are at least 12,500 square feet; the
changes near the park have been made; and the looped street has
been changed to a cul-de-sac. He further stated that he wants to
do the 15 or 16 lots on Brian Drive first, to get water down
there.
Chairman Tourville asked for questions and comments from the
audience.
Leon L'Allier, 1973 Main Street, said he is glad to see
residential development for this particular area, as opposed
to commercial.
Mark Perrizo, 7192 Shad Avenue, asked how many lots are on
this ten acre piece. It will be 28, but 15 will be the
first phase.
Motion by Lindgren, second by Drilling to approve the rezoning of
the south ten (10) acres of the proposed Rehbein development from
commercial to R -2A residential, and make recommendation to the
City Council for it's approval. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Lindgren, second by Drilling to adjourn the hearing,
motion carried unanimously. Hearing adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
a. Kk
Beverly A. Hughes, Assistant City Clerk
