r <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning <br /> and Zoning Commission of Centerville held their regular <br /> meeting on February 3, 1987 at City Hall. Chairman <br /> Tourville called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. <br /> Present: Buesseler, Lindgren, Welk, liaison Neumann. <br /> Motion by Buesseler, second by Lindgren to accept the <br /> minutes of the January 6 Planning and Zoning meeting, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> Discussion on revision of Ordinance #4. Clerk will <br /> have building inspector review subdivision #31. <br /> Discussion will continue with subdivision #32 at the <br /> March meeting. <br /> Presentation by Jim Merila, Merila & Associates and Dick <br /> Wedell, Harstad Companies. Harstad Companies is interested <br /> in developing property north of Trippel's Market and east <br /> of Mill Road. They are proposing 96 - 103 homes with <br /> 75' to 80' lot frontages in the $90,000 price range. In <br /> order for this project to go forward as proposed, the <br /> City of Centerville would need to look at reducing lot <br /> size requirements (street frontages and setbacks). <br /> Motion by Buesseler, second by Lindgren to recommend the <br /> City Council direct Planning and Zoning to review lot <br /> sizes with the intent to reduce them in all or part of <br /> the City, motion carried unanimously. <br /> Messrs. Wedell and Merila will give their presentation <br /> to the City Council at the February 11 council meeting. <br /> Data presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission indicated <br /> Centerville's lot sizes may not be competitive with todays <br /> market. Centerville's Comprehensive Plan (Table 13) also <br /> suggested the city look at smaller lot sizes. <br /> Motion by Welk, second by Buesseler to table the special <br /> use permit for Jerry Roach, 7159 Mill Road until the March <br /> meeting, motion carried unanimously. Clerk will contact <br /> Mr. Roach on his status, as he did not appear this evening. <br /> Motion by Buesseler, second by Welk to table road specifications, <br /> Ordinance #14, until the March meeting, motion carried <br /> unanimously. Planning and Zoning Commission will try to <br /> read over Ordinance #14 by next meeting. <br /> Motion by Welk, second by Lindgren to appoint Peter Buesseler <br /> as vice chairperson for 1987, Lindgren, Welk, Tourville - aye, <br /> Buesseler - abstain, motion carried. <br /> Motion by Buesseler, second by Welk to appoint Dan Tourville <br /> as Chairperson for 1987, Buesseler, Welk, Lindgren - aye, <br /> Tourville - abstain, motion carried. <br /> Clerk will send a request for resume from the prospective <br /> Planning and Zoning members. Resumes will be included in <br /> next packet for recommendation to council. <br />
