CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 1, 1996 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the park and recreation Committee of the City of <br /> Centerville held their regular scheduled meeting on August 1, 1996. Meeting was call to 4 . n <br /> order at 6:39 p.m. Members present: R. Thompson, D. Larson, N. Young, M. Navin, J�h"` <br /> K. Fogarty. Jim March also present, Absent: C. ZoffPelton, B. Bisek, City Council <br /> Liaison. <br /> P &R invited March to cover any issues since he was new. <br /> March disgussed the following: <br /> Lighting proposal from N.S.P. Liked the rate being proposed. Motion by Larson. <br /> Seconded by Johnson to install light, per Paul Palzer recommendation. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Park acquisition; March explained the survey received. March pointed out the boundary <br /> that is ambiguous and the letter from the Attorney to consider title insurance. <br /> Willow Glen; a new development concept coming, before P &Z . The P &R respectively <br /> requested city authorities to consider the need for open space. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS: <br /> P &R reviewed the June 28, 1996 revised Eagle Park layout. There's great concern about <br /> the placement of the park on the north side. Concern from the prospect of drainage. <br /> There appears to be a lot of wetland. A point of 911ft appears on the east side, yet where <br /> the tennis courts are on the west side show an elevation of 909ft., where or how is water <br /> to drain? <br /> Rick briefed the group on the proposals made by Lino Lakes. to provide a recreation <br /> program. Rick will review informally. <br /> Discussion concerning the number of committee members on P &R board. Some members <br /> of the committee felt P &R should be reduced from 7 to 5 members. In order to fully <br /> consider the proposal: <br /> a) City staff is directed to send written notification to Carol Pelton and Bill Biesk to <br /> determine their continued interest. <br /> b) Based on their action, this should be placed on the agenda for September. <br /> Fees for the use of city owned appliances. Fogarty will develop a usage fee schedule <br /> for the September Meeting. <br />
