CITY OF CENTERVILLE
PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
JULY 12, 1995
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of
Centerville held their regular scheduled meeting on July 12, 1995. Meeting was called to
order at 6:30 p.m. Members present: Larson, Thompson, Bisek, Pelton.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by Larson, second by Thompson to approve meeting minutes of June 7, 1995,
motion carried unanimously.
LAMOTTE 11 ACRES ADDITION TO CENTRAL PARK
Motion by Pelton, second by Bisek to recommend purchase of 12 acres of land from the
LaMottes. Why: Better access, best layout, efficient to centralize sports facilities.
Purchase Price: Let City Council negotiate the best price, $10,000 per acre seems high.
Financing: Option 1: Purchase 1/2 with TIF, 1/2 grant. Option 2: If grant is not
awarded 50,000 - 60,000 from Park Dedication Fund, 60,000 - 70,000 TIF (can't
determine what monies we have exactly in the Park Dedication Fund). This would
precluded immediate development. Development: 50- 60,000 park dedication fee and 50-
60,000 grant. Motion passed unanimously.
PARK DEDICATION FEE
Motion by Larson, second by Bisek to raise the dedication fee to $750.00 per residential
dwelling. In addition commercial fees/land dedication and possible sliding scale for the
land dedication for residential development to be considered in August when staff
provides fee schedule for Centerville. Motion passed unanimously.
NORTH METRO RECREATION
Motion by Thompson, no second, to drop from North Metro Recreation. P &R requests
staff to obtain information from Carl Sarrion that was requested in June for August
meeting.
TITLE 2
Committee member Pelton is to research this issue.
PUBLIC WORKS PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
1
