1 • ! <br /> Council Member introduced the following resolution and <br /> moved its adoption: <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 100 <br /> A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT COOPERATIVE EFFORTS TO PROVIDE FOR <br /> INTEGRATED RECREATION PROGRAMS BETWEEN THE CITY OF LINO LAKES AND <br /> OTHER SURROUNDING PUBLIC AGENCIES <br /> WHEREAS: The City of Lino Lakes has a continuing effort to provide <br /> an appropriate living environment for its residents, and <br /> WHEREAS: The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed as a civil <br /> rights law for persons with disabilities, and <br /> WHEREAS: The Americans with Disabilities Act provides <br /> protection /opportunities for any individual with a <br /> disability who chooses to use programs, services and <br /> benefits within the City of Lino Lakes, and <br /> WHEREAS: The City of Lino Lakes desires to cooperate in providing <br /> integrated recreation programs and related services for <br /> disabled persons including but not limited to, persons <br /> who are physically disabled, hearing impaired, <br /> chronically mentally ill, learning disabled or mentally <br /> handicapped, and <br /> WHEREAS: The City of Lino Lakes believes that recreation program <br /> integration for such persons can be provided on a more <br /> efficient basis with programs of high quality and with <br /> broader participation if joint and cooperative programs <br /> are pursued with other surrounding public agencies. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA, <br /> that the City of Lino Lakes supports the continued movement towards <br /> the goal of providing a framework and authority for joint and <br /> cooperative agreements with surrounding communities, school <br /> districts and other public agencies to provide for integrated <br /> recreation programs, and <br /> SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a similar resolution be adopted by <br /> other interested agencies. <br /> Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 19th day of December, <br /> 1994. <br /> Vernon F.
