A variety of community based programs are provided as well <br /> as opportunities for integration into the general recreation programs. <br /> MISSION STATEMENT <br /> ADAPTIVE RECREATION SERVICES <br /> Provide and enhance opportunities and access in recreation /leisure <br /> programs and related services for individuals with disabilities; <br /> and provide resources, education and support to those who live or <br /> work in Eden Prairie. <br /> Our Goals: <br /> 1. To provide opportunities for creative use of leisure time. <br /> 2. To motivate individuals to discover and develop their abilities, interests, and <br /> hobbies to pursue during their own leisure time. <br /> 3. To encourage various means of self - expression through leisure time activities. <br /> 4. To make available opportunities to improve socialization skills and interaction <br /> with peers. <br /> 5. To teach the skills necessary for individuals to participate in sports and games of their <br /> choice. <br /> 6. To offer individuals the option to participate in programs of their choice with non- <br /> disabled peers. <br /> 7. To have fun through recreation and leisure activities. <br /> 8. To promote a belief that every citizen, regardless of disability, is entitled to the <br /> enrichment that recreation can bring. <br />
